May 8, 2013

OK, It's been a few days since I posted anything, but there isn't much to post when it rains all day for 3 days. I got up at 7:00 am today and started breaking camp. I finished up before it started raining again and decided I was in serious need of a shower. Three days living out of my car wasn't as bad as it could have been, but I don't look forward to doing it again soon. After my shower, I reviewed my travel agenda and decided to head for Alabama and the Horseshoe Bend National Military Park.

Six hours of driving (and the worst part was the freeway around Atlanta) I arrived at my destination. I toured the building, but will save the driving tour until tomorrow when I have more time. The Ranger was good enough to suggest "Wind Creek State Park Campground"

Half an hour more driving and I arrived!

On the waterfront again!!

I set up my tent and worked up an appetite.

Looking out from my tent.

OK, now I headed out for some southern grub.

A few pictures of the lake on the way back.

Back at camp and ready to sit down and eat!!

Coleslaw, Tater Salad, and Honey rubbed Ribs.
Mmmmmmm...... they were good!!

It;s now 9:00 pm here and everyone is quiet, so I guess I'll crawl in my
tent and watch a movie, and call it a night.
